Hello, my name is Jessica Robin Harkey and I am an Illustrator living in North Carolina.

My process always starts with a feeling or an image that may seem mundane but in actuality is extraordinary and magical, when you look closer.

I like to think that I can paint the worlds I wish that I could live in. Worlds full of rolling hills covered in flowers, fairies and houses nestled into the trunks and roots of great big trees. Where it is alright to lay among the tall grasses and wildflowers of a meadow, eating strawberries on a checked picnic blanket all day. 

I’ve been drawing and painting and creating since I was little. Whether it was painting or playing pretend with my sisters, my imagination got quite a bit of exercise. Luckily all that exercise and use made it strong, so strong that I’ve been able to take it along with me ever since.

Today, you can usually find me in my little studio bringing all my imaginings to life through my illustrations. I like to think that my work is not just for children but will bring out everyone’s inner child. I hope that my work can transport you somewhere magical or at least beautiful.

When I am not illustrating, I am often teaching others how to paint and draw their own imaginings into existence, studying herbalism, in my garden or hiking and exploring with my partner and our pup Zeke.
